Understanding The Book of

Revelation

It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ!

To the Readers of This Blog

The purpose and goal of this site is well stated in the prologue of Revelation itself. "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it for the time is near" (Rev. 1:3). It seems it would be difficult to misunderstand the intent of the words of this verse. "The words of this prophecy" refer to the entirety of the book of Revelation.

In 1:11 John is instructed, "What you see, write is a book." That book is the book Revelation. Significantly, the words "I saw" or "I looked" or some other visual derivative occurs more than 60 times as you read the book.

The instruction continues in 1:19, "Write the things you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this." According to this verse the "things" of Revelation deal with the past, the present, and the future from John's time.

Turning to the last chapter (Rev 22:7) we find Jesus Himself promising the same blessing on "he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book". Then, in 22:10 the angel who attends John (21:9) commands, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand."

WOW! That's a lot of emphasis in a few verses! The clear, ringing conclusion is that the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse) is to be read, heard, and kept by ALL who peruse it. A correct interpretation of its signs and symbols will bring all its students to a more harmonious understanding of its prophecies. To that end is the goal of this blog.

Revelation Discussion Forum

This forum is a place to respectfully discuss the Articles in this blog, ask questions, share insights, and grow together in better understanding this amazing last book of the Bible. In it all the other books of the Bible find their fulfillment and purpose. Significantly the "end" is simply a new beginning where "The End" never comes (Rev. 21 and 22).

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
